Actor Stephen Baldwin and his wife Kennya had two children, their oldest daughter, Alaia Baldwin, and Rhode founder Hailey Bieber. The two sisters grew up in the spotlight because their whole family is filled with entertainment industry figures. Baldwin has gone on to model and to become a mother herself. What does Alaia Baldwin do?
Like Bieber, Baldwin also pursued a career as a professional model and has worked with brands like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. In 2016, she told Marie Claire, “One of my ambitions is to take this career and view it as art. I think that’s sort of a lost concept because everyone is so focused on social media and making money. At the end of the day when I get frustrated and get upset, I remember how much I love getting into character and creating a fashion story.”
She also discussed what it’s like trying to be in the fashion industry when you have family members who are famous.
“It is really frustrating because you’re trying to do this on your own, but you still have that connection,” she continued. “For me, it’s not that bad because my family’s not single-handedly taking over the world at once like the Kardashians.”
The model is additionally very vocal about endometriosis awareness, serving as an ambassador for the Endometriosis Foundation of America. She herself was diagnosed with the condition in 2016. In March 2020, she wrote the foreword for Dr. Tamer Seckin’s book, EndoMEtriosis: A Guide for Girls.
“That’s really been a big motivation for me to share and just be an open ear to anyone that wants to have someone to talk to or who understands,” she said of the book. “Because it can be so isolating when you’re in the middle of those [painful] moments by yourself. You don’t have anyone who knows what that’s like.”
It seems like Baldwin is especially close to her cousin, Ireland Baldwin, who is Alec Baldwin’s daughter. On an April 2022 episode of Red Table Talk, Ireland gave Baldwin a shout-out for helping her with mental health and overcoming substance abuse issues.
“[Alaia] was the one who booked the ticket from New York and came to L.A. to see me,” Ireland said. “She was like, ‘Something’s up. ...I sense something...She saved my life. I think I would have committed suicide, or I would have been dead for sure. I was so close. I could feel it getting to that point. And she saved my life. She pulled me out of it.”
Is Alaia Baldwin married?
Baldwin married filmmaker and producer Andrew Aronow in September 2017. She has narrated some of their love story on Instagram, saying they shared their first kiss in January 2014 and became serious soon after.
“And now, on September 2, 2017, I married the man I fell in love with the first time I laid eyes on him in Parrot Cay,” she continued. “Even if I didn’t want to, I could never stop falling in love with you.”

The two sister seem to be close even as their lives get busier. In 2009, they introduced the Jonas Brothers on Saturday Night Live together and were in one another’s bridal parties. For Bieber’s 25th birthday, Baldwin wrote her a loving tribute on Instagram. “The strangest thing about you turning 25 is that… you’ve been 25 since you were 5. 😅” Baldwin wrote. “I’m so proud to see the woman that you have become. In 2019, Baldwin told Us Weekly that she approved of her sister’s marriage to Justin Bieber.
“I appreciate that he is always his genuine self, and that’s what I’d say I like the most about him,” she said.
Bieber has mostly shared details of her upbringing with her sister, telling Fashion magazine in August 2017 that being the children of famous parents didn’t disturb their childhood much.
“The way my parents raised my sister and me, [Hollywood] was always separate—that was dad’s work life,” she explained. “When we were home, we were just home, hanging out.”
