Fans Think Billie Eilish's New Song "Your Power" May Be About Her Ex-Boyfriend, Q (2024)

There were a lot of revelations from Billie Eilish's Apple TV+ documentary, Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry, but the biggest one may have been that Billie had a boyfriend at one point and no one knew. His name is Brandon Quention Adams and he's a rapper who goes by 7: AMP, though Billie seemed to refer to him as Q. Here's everything we know about the man who secretly stole Billie's heart.

1. Fans think her song, "Your Power," is about him.

When Billie dropped "Your Power," the second single off her upcoming album which is about people abusing their power, fans began to speculate that it’s about her past relationship with Brandon.

One fan even theorized that the entire album will tell the story of their breakup.

Others, though, believe "Your Power" is just about power dynamics in general, and not about her relationship specifically.

Billie, meanwhile, promoted the song on Instagram with a post where she wrote that the lyrics are about "many different situations that we’ve all either witnessed or experienced."

2. He has spoken out about the documentary.

Following the release of Billie Eilish: The World's a Little Blurry, many fans were upset with Brandon based off the way he comes off in the doc, and while their breakup was almost two years ago, it seems like many attacked Brandon online following the film's release.

It got so bad, that Brandon had to take to his Instagram Stories to address his relationship with Billie. He revealed that he was dealing with the death of his brother when he was dating the singer. "Especially around that time when it was fresh. Sometimes you have to be alone to cope," he said.

He continued, saying, "sometimes people disagree and don't want the same things as one another." He urged fans to recognize the "several point[s] of views to a situation."

"Anyone who know me knows where my heart is," he said. "I stay with a smile on my face even when I'm hurting. We push through the pain. [No love is ever lost] but I refuse to be bashed." He ended his statement saying, "There's always two sides to a situation."

Billie also spoke out, writing on her own Instagram Stories, "To the fansssss🥰 remember to be nice to people no matter what! I love you guys thank you for protecting me but be nice!!"

3. He's an LA rapper.

Just like Billie, Brandon is a musician that hails from Los Angeles.

4. He's older than Billie.

Brandon is 24, making him five years older than 19-year-old Billie.

5. They seemingly dated for less than a year.

Brandon first appears in the documentary around late 2018 and it seems like they broke up in June 2019. In the documentary, Billie is seen talking about the breakup backstage at a concert in NYC.

"I just wasn't happy," she said. "And I didn't want the same things he wanted and I don't think that's fair, for him. I don't think you should be in a relationship, super excited about certain things that the other person couldn't care less about." She also explained that there was "a lack of effort" on his part.

At her performance that night, Billie started cyring while singing her song, "I love you."

6. Brandon and Billie grew apart.

In the doc, Billie's busy schedule seemed to put a strain on her relationship and eventually, Brandon appeared to get distant. On Valentine's Day 2019, Billie said she felt "lonely" and "miserable."

Later that year at Coachella, Brandon didn't come to a party Billie invited him to, and after her performance, he was nowhere to be seen. They talked on the phone and she asked him, "Can you come here." He seemed to say he'll "try" and then hung up.

7. Fans knew they were friends.

While they were dating, Billie's fans knew she and Brandon were friends and there were some romance rumors. In 2019, Billie was even featured on the cover of Brandon's debut album, Bleupro.

Brandon also posted photos with Billie on Instagram from time to time.

8. They seem to be on good terms.

It seems like Brandon and Billie may still be friends. A few months after their split, Brandon wished Billie a happy birthday on Instagram.
